"Amici per la Pelle" is an educational project promoted by UNIC/LINEAPELLE, together with the support of local institutions, school directors and teachers. Over the years this project has enjoyed great success, involving increasing numbers of students from the centres of Italian tanning, helping to guide them towards future training opportunities and giving them a chance for a real engagement with the world of work.
Second and third year students from middle schools in the 4 main tanning regions (Tuscany, Veneto, Campania and Lombardy) are invited to participate in the project.
The title of the competition for this 8th edition is "MOVIE TAN". The young participants have created leather items inspired by the world of cinema, drawing ideas from films and animation, actors, celebrities and movie posters.
The works will be exhibited in a dedicated space at the fair (Corso Italia, in front of pavilions 9 and 11) where visitors can vote for their favourite, as well as on the Facebook page specially created for the competition, which will be on line for the first 2 days of the fair.
Furthermore, a panel of judges will select the winner of the "Michele De Maio" award. This is named after Michele De Maio, a Unic council member who died in 2018 who was very active in the Campania region and a great supporter of all initiatives aimed at young people.
The 22nd of February is the final day of the fair, and events include a visit to the exhibition pavilions and the awards ceremony in the FieraMilano Auditorium at 11:00 am, as well as educational and cultural activities and entertainment. Over 1,000 young people from 14 schools will be present at the award ceremony.
Separately from the competition, the students of the Bosco Chiesanuova school (Roverè Veronese, Veneto) will exhibit a boot made with Lego bricks, the result of their participation in the "INTO ORBIT" robotics competition organised by the First Lego League. Their team is named "MyColLego", and qualified for the national final by developing a prototype to which a special antigravity sole is applied.
