After the stages in South America (Rio de Janeiro 2011), Europe (Milan 2015) and Asia (Shanghai 2017), the World Leather Congress reaches North America, where the fourth edition of the event organized by the International Council of Tanners, under the title "Leather in Everyday life", will take place on next 16 July 2019 in New York.
The eve of Lineapelle New York is therefore enriched by an international event, which will see the participation of sustainability experts and representatives of the fashion and design industry. Up to them the huge task of telling the great beauty of leather, which has always been part of human daily life. They will talk about the history of this extraordinary material, going beyond the industrial culture that characterizes it. They will talk about its millenary tradition, but also (and above all) of the reasons that make leather concretely circular and sustainable, modern and versatile, fundamental for the success of the fashion & luxury industry.
The event will investigate the perception of leather by the consumer, with the aim of developing a new communication pattern, which explains to intermediaries, producers and consumers the value of the characteristics of naturalness and the excellence of leather. The interlocutors will try to get in step with the new generations of consumers, in particular the younger ones, who often do not understand the inimitable qualities of leather, letting themselves be seduced by alternatives, such as vegan ones, characterized by questionable sustainability claims.
