The 38th edition of LINEAPELLE NEW YORK, held on 17 and 18 July at the METROPOLITAN PAVILION, saw the participation of 131 exhibitors (of which 75 Italian, 14 French, 13 Spanish, 9 American, 6 Brazilian, 3 Turkish, 2 British, 2 Indonesian, 2 Pakistani, 1 German, 1 Icelandic, 1 Dutch, 1 Portuguese and 1 Chinese). Among these, 99 were tanneries, 13 producers of accessories and components, 17 of fabrics / synthetics and 2 institutes. The Winter 2020-21 collections were presented.
There was a good public turnout at the event, especially on the first day. 1,159 visitors were registered, in line with the last two editions, coming mostly from the State of New York and New Jersey.
The program of seminars and workshops during the event was particularly varied. The usual stylistic seminars elaborated by the Lineapelle Fashion Committee for the 2020/21 winter season, summarised in the reference concept EQ - EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT have attracted a large and attached audience.
Another meeting developed around the need to define the most authoritative tools and platforms for certification in the leather sector, with the intervention of ICEC (Tthe Certification Institute for the leather sector), CSCB (Brasilian Leather Certification of Sustainability) and LWG (Leather Working Group).
The input by The Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium, which presented the seminar "Inherent Vice & the Virtuous Cluster: the Case of Tuscan Veg Tan Leather" was also appreciated.
The next edition of LINEAPELLE NEW YORK will take place on 29-30 January 2020.
