In Milan from 17 to 22 April, the world of design offered us inspirations, innovations and provocations, at both the Salone and Fuorisalone. Here are our top picks, ranging from upholstery to furnishing accessories and art that becomes a product.

Leather accessories meet designer furniture. This is the Belt Chair, a chair made of / decorated with belts
3 BOTTEGA VENETA
Upholstery embellished with iconic elements of the brand: woven motifs, soft leathers, just like the soft tones.
4 HERMÉS
The leather is everywhere for the French maison, also in the small details of the dresser valet in the PLI'H series: minimal slits in a sheet of leather for bridles.
5 BADGLEY MISCHKA HOME
Design and luxury taken to extremes: € 20,500 for a Swarovski-studded bicycle, with leather-covered handlebar and stingray saddle
6 OBJECTS NOMADES
The elegance of leather shines in the collaborative design project by Louis Vuitton. The innovative ideas from the Campana brothers (Cocoon, Maracatu and Bomboca Sofa) and Atelier Oï (Swing Boat) stand out.

Vibram Connection Lab in collaboration with Ferrino Backpack Studio is offering just-in-time personalization of a backpack, letting you choose and combining the displayed materials which are then cut and sewn. Also available are a variety of uppers to match with a sole of your choice. Luxury as an idea of mass customization
8 SPINNING JENNY
Pure innovation that combines design, technology and footwear. The 3D upper uses a base of steel tubes connected by cords. Once these have been threaded on, the steel tubes are removed to create the shoe. Developed by Robin Kuhnle and June-Noa Fabregas (students at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design), the project won the Ein & zwanzig - World's Finest Design Talents 2018 international competition.
9 NILUFAR DEPOT
Vintage is forever. Nilufar Depot in Milan is a point of reference for lovers of historical design with a contemporary look. The many interesting things included: the lounge chair Lina Bo Bardi in metal covered with removable leather, designed in about 1960 for Casa Valeria Cirell (Morumbi, São Paulo, Brazil) and the Chaise Maurice Armchair by David/Nicolas (Italy, 2015), available as a limited edition with brass details, black painted steel frame, armrests in American walnut and cavallino cover.
