Voluntary Certifications in the Leather Sector
Certifications, marks and labels: a tool to communicate quality and sustainability to the final customer.
The course aims to give some learnings about the schemes that can be applied to the leather sector according to official, voluntary and certifiable (even with accreditation) standards. The course is focused on the added value given to the product, on the guarantees for the customer, who can choose the requirements for his suppliers in a responsible and sustainable way.
The topics: product and process quality, use suitability, origin of leather production (Made in), health of customers and workers in the sector, environmental respect, social accountability and traceability of raw hides/skins.
The topics will be explained by ICEC, the main Certification Institute for the leather sector.
